Deck cleaning

Deck floor and railing Looks good, doesn't it?

I finally got around to the annual power-washing of our upstairs deck, and the Trex composite material cleaned up nicely.

But now I'm worried. As I'm writing this, a quick internet search for "Trex decking" found an article that advises against power-washing because it "will destroy the outer coating...possibly voiding your warranty."

Shit. More searching turned up a class action lawsuit settlement for Trex products that are "...susceptible to Surface Flaking." And more searching found that using bleach to help remove/kill the mildew (which I did yesterday) actually makes it worse.

Yikes. Damn you, Internet.
