We Americans like our toys big and loud. Who else would have come up with the idea of monster trucks?
I heard this one rumbling and blasting its way across the parking lot on Snow Road & West 150th, so I stopped to capture this slice of Americana.
Wikipedia traces the history of highly modified pickup trucks back to the 70's, pointing out that their usual goal in monster truck competions is running over and smashing smaller vehicles.
