Small steps to sustainability
At the start of this semester our campus president announced a campus-wide effort towards sustainability. As we were at the time eating and drinking from disposable plastic dishes and cups it was easy to be cynical about sustainability at Tri-C.
But... people are trying. Here in a new flower bed on campus they've installed soaker hoses to water the plants, much less wasteful than a conventional sprinkler system.
Another good sign is that recycling bins, once noticeably absent, have sprouted everywhere on campus. Now if you don't recycle paper, plastic or aluminum cans you have no one to blame but yourself.
