Falling leaves

It makes me friggin' crazy that Americans are too lazy to sweep or rake leaves in the fall.

Rather than the slow, rhythmic brush of a rake or broom we fill the air with the sound of screaming leaf blowers, often adding air pollution from a gasoline engine to go along with the noise pollution.

I understand that for a commercial landscaping or maintenance firm this might be necessary, but not for an ordinary homeowner.

I mean c'mon, folks: skip going to the gym to work out and spend an hour raking leaves instead. We'll all feel better if you do.
