Rethinking education

Maybe education isn't working because we're doing it all wrong. Schools that are set up like factories, with students organized by date of manufacture (birth date), don't make much sense to Sir Ken Robinson. When I listened to his talk (on TED Talks) about changing the paradigm of education it made a lot of sense to me. His 2006 presentation is titled Schools Kill Creativity.

The animated version you see here was created by RSA Animate. At first it seemed unnecessary, but as I watched I soon realized that it made the talk more understandable, more memorable, and dare I say it, more fun.

You may also be interested in Ken's follow-up talk, Bring on the Learning Revolution (February 2010).
