Welcome to the Arc de Triomphe!

Arc de TriompheThe Arc de Triomphe is a monument that is the the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle, which is at the western end of the Champs-Ely sees. The arch honors those who fought for France during the Napoleonic Wars and include the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was designed in 1806 by Jean Chalgrin, and stands over 165 ft tall.

Visiting the Arc de Triomphe

Pedestrian access to the Arc is vie an underpass, it has one elevator to the level underneath the exterior observation level. Visitors can either climb 284 steps to reach the top of the arch or take the elevator. Panoramic views of Paris can be seen from the top.
